An aircraft hovering over a popular southern California coastline suddenly began spiraling wildly, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos uploaded online capture the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then plunging near the edge of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

Emergency responders stated five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were âextracted safely from the crash siteâ following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
