David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
