New England equaled their longest winning run since the Brady period as they overcame division opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson led the way with three TDs as the Patriots claimed an eighth straight win for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the Patriots advantage at the summit of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after dropping to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had scored first at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's initial series

But the New England fought back in the second quarter as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to make it 21-7

"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be excellent."

Justin Fields threw to Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots sealed the victory
